Method and originality

The sixteen cases, settings, names, objects, record sets, statements, and resolutions are original fiction. They do not adapt real incidents, real people, branded mysteries, published logic puzzles, or police material. The one inconsistent account in every case is a low-stakes memory slip, never an accusation.

How uniqueness is proved

Each case enumerates all 576 possible one-to-one place and time mappings for four people. The shipped independent records must leave exactly one mapping, and an automated test enforces that invariant on every build. Three testimony claims agree with that mapping and one does not, which is also checked automatically.

How difficulty is built

Records are derived deterministically from the solution, then ordered so that higher chapters postpone the point at which the records first become sufficient. That means a later case is not simply longer; it stays ambiguous for more of the reading. Every record carries a source label so a player can tell which office or log it came from.

What assistance does and does not do

Check consistency counts how many marked rows conflict with the records without naming a cell. Fill forced singles propagates only the exclusions already on your board. Verified nudge is the only feature that reads the solution, it says so plainly, and it lowers the score.

The matrices use native HTML buttons with full accessible names and a roving tab stop in each grid, rather than imitating a spreadsheet widget incompletely. Neither organisation endorses this game.
